The Fort Shopping Park is hosting a free family day to celebrate VE Day, featuring live music, walkabout entertainment, and free face painting. The event takes place on Saturday, May 9, from 1 to 4 pm at the Erdington shopping park, conveniently located just off the M6.
No tickets or booking are required; families are welcome to simply turn up and enjoy the festivities. A spokesperson for The Fort said: "A family day out you don't want to miss. On Saturday May 9, we’re bringing the spirit of VE Day to life at The Fort Birmingham: free face painting, live 1940s singing and walkabout Land Girls entertainment."
What to Expect
The afternoon promises fun, laughter, and memories for all ages. The free face painting operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and queues may close early to finish by 4 pm, so arriving early is recommended. Parking at The Fort, located on Fort Parkway, is free.
