Free Family Fun Day at Waltham Abbey Gardens June 20

A free family fun day is set to take place at Waltham Abbey Gardens on Saturday, June 20, from 10am to 12pm, offering a variety of outdoor activities suitable for all ages.

Activities on Offer

Visitors can participate in multi-sports sessions, games, guided nature walks, a scavenger hunt, and a minibeast Olympics. Additionally, non-contact boxing and fitness sessions will be led by a local personal trainer.

Community Organisations Present

Local groups such as Epping Forest District Museum Trust, Mind in West Essex, and 3Food4u will be in attendance, providing information and opportunities to get involved in community initiatives.

The event is set against the historic backdrop of the former Augustinian Abbey and aims to encourage people to stay active and make the most of the green spaces within Lee Valley Regional Park.

Attendees can also learn more about free and low-cost activities available through the Lee Valley Get Active programme and the council’s Community Engagement Team.

The fun day will also celebrate families who have recently completed a six-week Active & Outdoors programme, designed to build confidence and encourage outdoor activity.

Refreshments will be available from the Olive Branch Café. Free parking is available for those who register on arrival with the Lee Valley Learning and Engagement Team. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
