Picnic in the Park is set to return to Coalville Park for a spectacular weekend of live entertainment, family fun, and community spirit. Taking place on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5, 2026, this free event promises something for everyone, from toe-tapping tunes to laugh-out-loud performances and hands-on activities. Coalville Public Radio will act as the compere for the weekend.
Coalville Sport 2026
People of all ages are invited to attend Coalville Sport 2026, a brand-new community sports event taking place in Coalville Park on Saturday, July 4, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Designed to celebrate local sport and encourage people to get active, Coalville Sport 2026 will bring together sports clubs, activities, and interactive sessions in a fun, relaxed park setting. Whether you are already sporty or just curious to try something new, there will be plenty to see and do.
Evening Live Music
Afterwards, from 4pm to 9.30pm, enjoy the weekend with an evening of live music featuring:
- Twist of Rock – upbeat music to get everyone at Coalville Park dancing
- Carter and Hartmann Duo – high-energy live music with looping harmonies, guitar solos, and percussion
Attendees can also expect to see a vintage roundabout, stilt walkers, giant bubbles, and more magical surprises for all ages.

Sunday Entertainment
From 12pm until 5.30pm on Sunday, July 5, the fun continues with a full day of entertainment including performances by High Pressure, Part Time Heroes, and Leicestershire Co-op Band. There will also be a table football tournament, a climbing wall, walkabout entertainment from The Cabbage Appreciation Society, craft workshops, and a variety of food and drink stalls. Performances by Thornley Dance Academy and Singing for the Soul choir will showcase community performers.
Parking Information
Visitors should be aware there is no on-site parking, so please use the town centre car parks and walk to the park from there. Accessible parking is available by the tennis courts off London Road, Coalville. Please avoid parking on surrounding residential roads.
