The Shropshire Petal Fields, located in Newport just 40 minutes from Birmingham, will open for only 11 days this summer, from August 6 to 16, 2026. Tickets are on sale now for this extraordinary attraction, which features over 3.5 million seeds planted to create layers of colour with delphiniums, cornflowers, sunflowers, and wildflowers.
New Attractions for 2026
New for 2026, the fields will include a picturesque lake and a woodland area for families to explore. A phone-free zone is being introduced to encourage mindfulness, alongside morning yoga sessions. Tipis and marquees will host a pop-up café, and visitors can purchase petal confetti and freshly cut flower bouquets, with ample seating and cover available.
What Visitors Can Expect
"A stroll through the petal fields is a wonderful way to connect with nature and let the stresses of life fall away," said Beth Heath, Director of Shropshire Festivals. "It's unlike any other event experience we have ever created. It's very special and unique to the county."
Opening Dates and Music Events
The opening dates are revealed only once the flower team ensures the blooms are at their best. Due to crop rotation, the festival takes place on a new field each year, offering different views. Before the main opening, two live music events will be held: an ABBA tribute night, Pop in the Petals, on July 31 featuring ABBASensation, and Proms in the Petals on August 1 with a 50-piece orchestra playing songs from stage and screen.
Photo Opportunities and Special Days
Ashley Evers-Swindell, Head of Marketing at Shropshire Petals, added: "Shropshire Petal Fields is a destination to capture memories. The flowers provide a stunning backdrop for photos with loved ones – we have families, couples, and friends visiting us every year. We've witnessed proposals, engagement photoshoots, and baby gender reveals too. The setting here is spectacular. Not only are there beautiful blooms, but there are some novel photo points with vintage tractors, giant chairs, huge butterfly wings, a bath, a zebra, and a giraffe!"
The organisers have partnered with The Pastry Box in Newport to offer a Ploughman's Hamper for two or four people, which must be booked in advance via the website. Three dog days are planned on August 12, 15, and 16, a Princess Event on August 11, and a sunset late opening on August 14.
Getting There from Birmingham
The Shropshire Petal Fields are located at Woodcote, Newport TF10 9BW, approximately a 40-minute drive from Birmingham via the M6 and M54, traffic permitting. Tickets can be booked via the Shropshire Petal Fields website.
