Stourport-on-Severn's popular paddling pool has reopened, making it a great place to cool off during May half term. Known as Birmingham's 'seaside town', it takes less than an hour to reach the Worcestershire riverside town via the M5, traffic permitting. The town offers a fairground, fish and chips, arcade games, parks, playgrounds, crazy golf, a bouncy castle, a theatre, and independent shops along the beautiful riverside.
Pool Repairs and New Opening Times
The paddling pool did not open in 2025 due to essential repairs to pipework and a new surface. Stourport Town Council has announced the pool will be open daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm, from now until Sunday, September 6, 2026.
Mayor's Statement
Councillor Tim Berry, Mayor of Stourport-on-Severn, said: 'We are absolutely delighted to see the Riverside Paddling Pool open again for children and families to enjoy. It is a much-loved facility in Stourport and these works represent an important investment in its future. We ask everyone using the pool to treat it with care and respect, so that it remains a clean, safe and welcoming place for all. Thank you to residents and visitors for their patience while the works were completed – we hope everyone has a wonderful summer enjoying the pool.'
Community Excitement
Parents are thrilled about the reopening. One local said: 'So pleased, great for the kids in time for the hot weather.' For more updates on family activities, follow the Brummie Mummies Facebook page and Instagram, sign up for the newsletter, or listen to the podcasts.
