Young singers, writers, and performers from across the region are being called to showcase their talents at Eisteddfod y Felinheli 2026. The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2026, at the Memorial Hall in Y Felinheli, offering a vital platform for practice ahead of the major national event.
A Supportive Stage for Emerging Talent
Following a triumphant return in 2025 after a hiatus of more than five decades, this village eisteddfod is cementing its place as a key date in the local cultural calendar. It provides a friendly and encouraging environment for competitors to gain experience. Osian Wyn Owen, the event's Chairman, emphasised its welcoming nature. "We’re a welcoming, supportive Eisteddfod that gives you a platform to perform in a friendly atmosphere," he said. "It’s a great opportunity to have a taste of competing before the National Urdd Eisteddfod comes to the area in 2026."
Expert Adjudicators and National Appeal
Participants will benefit from constructive feedback provided by a panel of nationally renowned adjudicators. The confirmed experts include Robat Arwyn for Music, Bethan Nantcyll for Recitation, and Llŷr Gwyn Lewis for Literature. The 2025 event proved the demand for such a local fixture, attracting competitors from all over Wales. Chairman Owen noted, "Last year was our first Eisteddfod in over fifty years, and we had a fantastic response. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back." The 2026 edition serves as an ideal preparatory event for the Urdd Eisteddfod Môn, which will be held on Anglesey from May 23 to 29, 2026.
