MAFS Australia Fans Furious Over 'Ridiculous' New Late-Night Slot
Reality TV enthusiasts across the UK are expressing outrage as Married At First Sight Australia has been shifted to a new, inconvenient time slot on E4. The popular show, known for its dramatic catfights and romantic failures, will now air in the early hours of the morning, leaving fans frustrated with the scheduling change.
Schedule Changes for MAFS Australia 2026
This week, viewers can still catch MAFS Australia in its usual time slot. The show will continue to broadcast at 7:30 PM from Monday to Thursday on E4, maintaining the routine that fans have grown accustomed to. However, a significant shift is on the horizon starting this Sunday.
Channel 4 has announced a "bold new programming era," which includes moving MAFS Australia to a much later time. From next week, the show will be pushed back by over five hours, airing at 12:35 AM from Monday to Thursday. This change means fans will need to stay up late to watch the live action as it unfolds in the UK.
New Weekly Schedule Details
The updated schedule for MAFS Australia is as follows:
- Sunday 5th April: 12:35 PM - 01:40 AM
- Monday 6th April: 12:35 PM - 01:30 AM
- Tuesday 7th April: 12:35 PM - 2:05 AM
- Wednesday 8th April: 12:35 PM - 01:45 AM
- Thursday 9th April: 12:35 PM - 01:30 AM
One positive note is the addition of a Sunday broadcast, whereas previously the show only aired from Monday to Thursday. Despite this, the move to after midnight has been described as "ridiculous" by many viewers, especially for weekday television.
Reason Behind the Schedule Shift
The decision to reschedule MAFS Australia stems from Channel 4's desire to prioritize Made In Chelsea. A spokesperson for the channel explained that Made in Chelsea is achieving a significant cultural impact this year and deserves more airtime.
"Made in Chelsea is delivering a level of cultural impact that simply can’t be ignored this year," the spokesperson stated. "We wanted to give it the space it deserves, even if that means asking MAFS viewers to be a bit more flexible."
They added, "This year, Made in Chelsea isn’t just a show, it’s a lifestyle." This explanation has done little to appease fans of MAFS Australia, who are now faced with the challenge of adjusting their viewing habits to catch the latest episodes of the reality series.
