The Coronation Street community is in mourning following the sad death of a familiar face from the cobbles. Actor and extra Tony Little, affectionately known to fans as the 'Old Kebab Guy', has passed away.
A Life on the Cobbles
Tony Little died over the festive period, on 28 December 2025. He was 88 years old, having been born on 5 September 1937. While he held a non-speaking role on the long-running ITV soap, his character became a beloved background fixture in Weatherfield, appearing in numerous episodes across many years.
Co-Star's Heartfelt Tribute
Fellow Coronation Street supporting actor Adam Blease, who plays Dirk in the show's Underworld factory, led the tributes on social media. Sharing the dates of Tony's birth and passing alongside a broken heart emoji, Blease wrote a moving post on Instagram.
He celebrated Tony not just as a colleague, but as a "Comedian, Singer, Entertainer and #Corrie Supporting Artist for many years." Blease added, "Tony Little was not only hilarious, he was also a great friend. We had the most unlikely friendship brought together by joy and laughter. Always iconic and a true legend."
A Legacy of Laughter
The unofficial Coronation Street podcast, The Talk of the Street, also shared the news, thanking Adam Blease for informing them. They posted: "His appearances on the show always made me smile, and it was clear he was quite the character. Love to his family and friends."
Tony Little's passing marks the end of an era for a subtle but cherished part of Coronation Street's rich tapestry. His silent presence at the kebab shop provided a slice of authentic street life for the drama, proving that even without lines, a character can leave a lasting impression on the audience.
