Good Morning Britain Presenter Juliet Dunlop Confirms Exit After Ten Years

ITV's flagship morning programme Good Morning Britain has bid farewell to one of its long-standing presenters. Juliet Dunlop, a broadcast journalist with a decade of service on the show, has officially confirmed her departure.

A Decade on the Breakfast Beat Comes to an End

Dunlop, who previously worked for BBC and STV News, announced her exit in a LinkedIn post late last year. She is best known for her extensive work on Good Morning Britain, though she has appeared on numerous other programmes throughout her career.

In her online statement, Dunlop reflected on her time with the show, saying, "After a decade on the breakfast beat, my time at Good Morning Britain is drawing to a close. It has been such a privilege to have had access to so many interesting people and places, and to have worked with such skilled and talented colleagues."

Restructuring at ITV Prompts Change

The journalist attributed her departure to organizational changes within the network. "Over the years, I've been buffeted by wind, rain and snow, filmed with penguins, pandas and politicians - it has certainly never been dull! - but restructuring at ITV means change is coming," she explained.

Dunlop completed her final shift in December and shared another heartfelt update via video. "Well, that's it from me, my last report for Good Morning Britain. It's been such a privilege working with so many hard-working, talented people over the last ten years," she said, as reported by the Mirror.

Fans Express Support and Discover News

Following her announcement, fans of the show have flooded social media with messages of support and appreciation for Dunlop's work. One viewer commented, "All the very best Juliet. Professional and thorough in your journalism, whether wind, rain, hail, snow or sun!!!"

Another added, "Good luck. 10 years! Where did the time go? Good luck with the next chapter," while a third remarked, "What an adventure you've had! Enjoy a few lie ins, and best of luck with the next role."

Interestingly, although Dunlop announced her departure at the end of last year, many fans are only now discovering the news. During the February 24th broadcast, one viewer expressed disappointment on social media, saying, "#GMB Disappointed to learn that the excellent reporter @julietdunlop has left @GMB, after 'company restructuring.'"

Another fan responded with, "Aw sad news, loved Juliet. Wish her all the best." This delayed awareness highlights how some audience members are catching up with the development months after the initial announcement.

Looking Ahead to New Opportunities

Dunlop has indicated that she will continue with early morning alarms until the end of the year but is eagerly anticipating fresh professional challenges in 2026. "I'll be setting an extra early alarm clock till the end of the year but am looking forward to new opportunities in 2026," she stated.

In her farewell message, she extended gratitude to colleagues and interviewees alike, emphasizing the collaborative nature of her work. "Thank you again to those who have been so generous with their time," Dunlop concluded, marking the end of a significant chapter in British morning television.
