A chocolate enthusiast from the UK has conducted a comprehensive taste test of every variety of Cadbury Dairy Milk Buttons to identify the ultimate flavour. These iconic flat round chocolates first appeared in Britain in 1960 and have remained a beloved product for over six decades.
Over the years, Cadbury has introduced numerous variations, including Orange, Mint, Caramel, and Bournville editions, which are available in the Share Bag range. Leah Watki, a self-proclaimed chocolate lover, took on the challenge of ranking all eight types. "Buttons are elite, but the question is - which one's the best?" she asked in an Instagram video.
The Taste Test Results
Original Dairy Milk Buttons
Leah started with the classic version. "Wow," she exclaimed. "I literally ate a whole packet of these the other night - they are just so good and you just can't beat the classic." She gave it a perfect 10 out of 10.
Darkmilk Buttons
Next was Cadbury Darkmilk Buttons. While acknowledging they are "nice," Leah admitted she "wouldn't be going back for more" after a couple of pieces. She scored them a 5 out of 10.
Caramilk Buttons
The caramelised white chocolate version came third. "They are really good, but they are just so sweet," Leah noted, awarding them a 7 out of 10.
Twisted Buttons
Dairy Milk Buttons Twisted, featuring a swirl of milk and white chocolate, ranked fourth. "I love the combination," Leah declared. "That's a 9 out of 10."
Bournville Buttons
Bournville, the smooth dark chocolate named after the Birmingham village where it was created in 1908, came next. "I personally love Bournville," Leah gushed. "It is my favourite dark chocolate because it has just the right amount of sweetness. 8 out of 10."
Caramel Nibbles
Though not called Buttons, these caramel-filled treats are slightly thicker. "Cadbury Caramel is top tier," Leah exclaimed. "But it is so sweet and these would get sickly very quickly. 9 out of 10."
White Buttons
White chocolate joined the range later, with Cadbury White Buttons launching in 2019. "I have never been a white chocolate fan," Leah confessed. "But these are actually really good. 7 out of 10."
Orange Buttons
The final flavour tested was Dairy Milk Buttons Orange. "Wow, chocolate orange is a top tier combination," Leah enthused. "A 10 out of 10."
Conclusion
According to Leah, the original Dairy Milk Buttons and the Orange version tie for the best. Her followers had mixed opinions: one commented, "Nothing beats the original," while another said, "Caramilk are my favourite." A third user added, "The original/Caramel are [best]."
