WWE star Austin Theory has shared his 'disgusting' opinion on British food ahead of the company's return to Birmingham next month. The tag team champion, who holds the world tag team titles alongside Logan Paul, is expecting to be booed at the Utilita Arena Birmingham show on June 21 and admits he 'still holds a grudge' against some Brummies.
Austin Theory's Take on British Cuisine
With WWE touring the UK this summer, Theory was asked about his thoughts on British food while away from the United States. Speaking to BirminghamLive, he said: 'Disgusting. I think me and Logan Paul will try to bring as much American food as we can over.' He added: 'It's a struggle for us when we're over there, it just is. No knock on the culture, but guys, you got to have a little more sauce and ingredients on the food.'
The champion continued: 'I'm giving everyone the gift of showing up but you can keep your food and snacks. I just try to drink water, you guys have great water so that's probably the best thing over there.'
Grudge Against Birmingham Fans
This won't be Theory's first time in Birmingham. He competed at the O2 Academy in 2019 against Trent Severn and recalled a negative experience. 'There's still a sour taste in my mouth and the crowd disrespected me. I still hold a grudge against those people, if you can relate,' he said.
Despite the bad memory, Theory backed Birmingham fans to come see him and his partner in June, especially if 'they don't like us'. He added: 'Me and Logan Paul just can't wait to show everyone how good we are then get back on the jet to Puerto Rico. I know the fans are going to be disrespectful because that's all they know how to be.'
What to Expect at WWE Live Birmingham
WWE Live at Utilita Arena Birmingham on June 21 is expected to include fan favourites like CM Punk and Rhea Ripley for a night of action. Theory said: 'At the live event, we're going to be able to pertain to the fans a little more. We can tell them how great we are and they can tell us how much they don't like us.' He concluded: 'As much as people say they don't like us, they will travel to tell us and help feed insecurities of how much they don't like themselves. That is why you should come and see the greatest tag team champions of the world and the universe.'
