If you've ever visited Cherry Reds, Caribbean and Cocktails, Turtle Bay, or any other venue on John Bright Street, you know it's a fun destination. But have you noticed the rich history visible if you look upward, past the graffiti and above street level? This week, we took a stroll down this historic road, home to several iconic buildings, some of which are on the verge of major change.
Buildings with stories to tell
The old purpose-built car garage could become a cafe and hotel, while the Borough Buildings are currently covered in graffiti. The Geoffrey Buildings above Brewdog are listed, and the former skin hospital is up for sale for £1.5 million. A planning application details a new hotel on the street.
