KFC has introduced two new subs for a limited period, and one of them stands out as one of the finest offerings on the menu. The fast-food chain unveiled its latest additions on Monday, May 18, bringing back the beloved Supercharger Sub after a decade-long hiatus alongside a brand new creation: the Garlic Parmesan Sub and Garlic Parmesan Loaded Fries.
The Garlic Parmesan Sub is available for a limited time until June 14. Priced at £6.49 for the burger alone, it can also be purchased as part of a meal for £7.99 or in a box meal with hot wings, chips, and a second side for £9.99. Note that ordering through delivery apps like Deliveroo or Uber Eats may increase the price slightly.
First Impressions
Upon arrival, the sub was larger than expected, featuring a wonderfully soft seeded bun packed with two generously sized mini fillets, lettuce, American cheese, and the standout component: the garlic parmesan sauce. The sauce had a mayo-like consistency, and the aroma of garlic was immediately noticeable upon opening the KFC paper bag.
The first bite leaned more towards parmesan than garlic, delivering a delightfully tangy and cheesy flavor that prompted an immediate second bite. The combination of crispy chicken and cheese complemented each other brilliantly, with the soft bun and crunchy lettuce rounding everything off perfectly. In my opinion, it is genuinely one of the finest products KFC has ever released.
Value for Money Comparison
Despite enjoying the sub thoroughly, a nagging thought about value for money persisted. When it comes to getting the most bang for your buck on a sandwich, Subway is hard to beat. You receive a considerably larger sandwich, complete freedom over your choice of toppings, sauce, and salad, and you will leave feeling thoroughly satisfied.
While Subway may not offer a fried chicken option, you can grab a foot-long sub for as little as £7.99, which for a lunchtime bite on the move is pretty hard to top. However, if you are craving that classic KFC chicken experience, I simply cannot recommend this sandwich highly enough, and I will certainly be heading back for another before it disappears on June 14.
