Excitement is building as the opening date nears for The Boiler Room, a new pub on the fringes of Birmingham's Victoria Square. The venue, located on Waterloo Street where Sommar Bar used to be, is set to join nearby popular spots like Theatrix, Purecraft, and the Colmore. The Boiler Room is the second location for the independent brand, which already operates a branch in Leamington Spa, where it has been praised as 'the best place for an afternoon beer' by Google reviewers.
What to Expect at The Boiler Room Birmingham
The Boiler Room will offer craft beer, wine, artisan spirits, and more, with a focus on quality and atmosphere. The venue has been under renovation for much of 2026, with staff transforming the space to create what they describe as 'the perfect bar.' According to the owners, 'The Boiler Room Story began back in 2020 opening under Covid restrictions in our Leamington unit. The Boiler Room Birmingham will be born as a development of six years worth of learning in our Leamington site.'
Design and Features
Recent updates show the venue has been fitted with a fresh frontage and tiles befitting Birmingham's historic neighbourhood. Inside, classic Victorian metro tiles and marble flooring have transformed the bathrooms, and the art deco window has been painted. The cellar will house 16 draught lines and four cask beers at once, ensuring a wide selection for beer enthusiasts.
Opening Date and Updates
While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, The Boiler Room has been sharing progress on Instagram, emphasizing that 'great venues are built on more than just great drinks. They're built on atmosphere.' The owners stated, 'At The Boiler Room, quality is at the heart of everything we do. From our drinks and service to the atmosphere and sound that define the experience.' More details are expected soon as the opening approaches.
