Kittens Found on Walsall Street Sofa Rescued by Police

Three abandoned kittens were discovered on a discarded sofa in a Walsall street and rescued by police officers over the weekend.

How the Kittens Were Found

A passer-by, identified as Tammy, noticed the newborn felines on the sofa left on the pavement in Park Street and flagged down PCs Kieron Stanton and Pip Clewlow from the Walsall St Matthew's team while they were on patrol.

Rescue and Care

The officers and Tammy carefully scooped up the kittens, placed them in a box, and transported them to a veterinary clinic in Wolverhampton, where they are now receiving care.

Officer's Reaction

PC Stanton said: "This was just such a lovely thing for us to be able to help out with. Tammy saw us and knew that as police officers we'd be able to help and that's what we did. Not every day has such sweet moments, but this was definitely one 'purr-suit' that ended very well for all involved."

Community Response

The incident highlights the positive impact of community vigilance and police responsiveness. The kittens are now safe and being looked after by veterinary staff.
