Hijinx Unity Festival 2026 Brings Inclusive Arts to Llanelli
Inclusive Arts Festival Comes to Llanelli

A vibrant celebration of inclusive and disability arts is coming to Llanelli next week. The prestigious Hijinx Unity Festival 2026 will arrive at the town on June 25. A packed programme of free street theatre will take place outside The Ffwrnes Theatre from 12.30pm until 7.30pm.

As one of Europe’s largest inclusive arts festivals, the event is the only one of its kind in Wales. The exciting day will feature a mixture of comedy, music, drag, circus, theatre, and dance. Audiences can look forward to engaging, thought-provoking, and entertaining performances throughout the square.

The free afternoon line-up includes performances from Hijinx, Theatr Iolo, Kitsch & Sync, Taking Flight, and tanzbar_bremen. No booking is required for any of the events, making the afternoon accessible to everyone.

The festival is now in its 12th year and connects creative talent from across Wales with international performers. Organisers Hijinx are recognised as a leading inclusive theatre company that champions learning disabled and autistic artists. The event is well-supported by funding bodies including the Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Government.

Eloise Tong from Hijinx said: “Through bringing artists together, both neurodivergent and neurotypical, Hijinx presents a world that champions inclusion and challenges perceptions. We have a loyal following of people who have seen our productions and love what we do.”

“A festival setting offers us the opportunity for more people who haven’t yet discovered Hijinx or the Unity Festival to enjoy new experiences and to delight in inclusive performance and theatre.” More details about the performance schedule can be found on the official theatre and festival websites.
