ONS Unveils Top 100 Baby Names for 2025

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has published its annual list of the most popular baby names in England and Wales for 2025, revealing both enduring favorites and surprising new entries. Olivia retains the top spot for girls for another year, while Muhammad continues to lead for boys, with Noah and Leo rounding out the top three.

The data, compiled from all registered births in 2025, shows notable shifts in parental preferences. For the first time, Lily has risen to second place among girls, displacing Amelia and Isla. New entries to the girls' top 100 include Eliana, Gracie, Anaya, Alba, Marnie, Lilah, and Frankie, while names like Ellie, Amelie, and Jessica have dropped out.

On the boys' side, Leo has climbed to third place, and several names have entered the top 100 for the first time: Vincent, Carter, Stanley, and Ruben. Conversely, Grayson, Brody, and Bodhi have left the list. The ONS notes that the rankings reflect exact spellings; variations are counted separately.
