Halliford School in Shepperton has announced the appointment of Richard Amlot as its new headteacher, effective January 2027. Mr Amlot brings a wealth of experience spanning 25 years as an English teacher and school leader across both maintained and independent sectors.

Currently serving as deputy head at King's College School in Wimbledon, Mr Amlot has previously held senior positions at Haberdashers' Aske's Boys' School. Throughout his career, he has developed robust systems to support student wellbeing, progress, and engagement, leading significant improvements in teaching and learning while strengthening university admissions processes.

Beyond his school roles, Mr Amlot works as a schools' inspector and serves as a governor in both state and independent sectors. He is a frequent speaker at national conferences and regularly contributes to educational journals. Mr Amlot studied theology at Oxford University before completing his teacher training at Cambridge. Outside of work, he enjoys running, theatre, windsurfing, and skiing.
