The Wolves 1877 Trust has sent a message to new head coach Cesar Peixoto, welcoming him to the club and expressing optimism for the future. In a statement released on Tuesday, the fan group urged supporters to unite behind the Portuguese manager as he takes the reins at Molineux.
Peixoto, 44, was appointed as the new Wolves boss earlier this week, replacing the departed Julen Lopetegui. The former Porto and Benfica midfielder has signed a contract until 2026, with the club hoping he can bring stability and success.
Trust Statement
The 1877 Trust, which represents a significant portion of the Wolves fanbase, said: "We welcome Cesar Peixoto to Wolverhampton Wanderers and wish him every success in his new role. We understand the challenges he faces and urge all fans to get behind him and the team."
The group also acknowledged the work of the previous manager, thanking Lopetegui for his efforts during his short tenure. "We thank Julen Lopetegui for his contribution and wish him well for the future," the statement added.
Fan Unity
The trust emphasized the importance of unity during this transitional period. "Now is the time for everyone associated with the club to pull together. We have a talented squad and a dedicated manager. With the support of the fans, we can achieve great things."
Peixoto faces a challenging start to his Wolves career, with the team currently sitting in 14th place in the Premier League. His first match in charge will be against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.
