Boston Borough Council and Wyberton Wombles Unite for Annual Spring Clean Initiative

Boston Borough Council and the Wyberton Wombles of Boston Common are collaborating once more for a community tidy-up event, famously known as the 'Big Borough Spring Clean'. This local initiative is set to take place on Sunday, March 22, running from 9am until 12pm, as part of an ongoing partnership aimed at enhancing the town's appearance for the upcoming spring season.

Event Details and Volunteer Opportunities

The clean-up will concentrate on three specific locations: Boston College on Skirbeck Road, The Sidings Medical Practice, and Tunnard Street. Volunteers are encouraged to participate, with the council providing all necessary personal protective equipment and cleaning tools, ensuring a safe and efficient experience for everyone involved.

This effort also aligns with the national Great British Spring Clean campaign, organized by Keep Britain Tidy, highlighting its broader environmental impact.

Community Leaders Express Enthusiasm

Cllr Callum Butler, Portfolio Holder for Environmental Services, expressed his excitement, stating, 'We're thrilled to be working alongside the Wyberton Wombles again for another spring clean. These annual events ensure our town and surrounding villages are looking their best in time for the warmer, spring months, and of course, they're also such a fantastic example of community partnership in action.'

Steve Slater of the Wyberton Wombles added, 'This event is all about making Boston and the surrounding parishes cleaner, greener and more welcoming for everyone. Come and join us — even if it's just for an hour, every bit truly helps.'
