Three arrested in Water Orton animal cruelty probe

Three individuals have been taken into custody following a major operation targeting suspected animal cruelty in Warwickshire.

Joint Raid on Birmingham Road

Officers from Warwickshire Police, working alongside inspectors from the RSPCA, executed a warrant at a property on Birmingham Road in Water Orton. The coordinated action took place on the afternoon of Wednesday, 17 December 2025.

During the operation, authorities detained three people. Those arrested are:

  • A 30-year-old woman from Birmingham.
  • A 48-year-old man from Loughborough.
  • A 32-year-old man, also from Loughborough.

All three were arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and have since been released on bail. They are required to return to the police at the end of January while inquiries continue.

Man Injured During Incident

The incident also resulted in a medical emergency. West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the scene at approximately 2.30pm on Wednesday after reports of an injury.

One ambulance attended and found a male patient. A spokesperson confirmed the man was assessed and had sustained injuries, which were not believed to be serious.

"He declined further treatment from ambulance staff and received self-care advice before being discharged at the scene," the ambulance service stated.

Ongoing Investigation

Details regarding the nature of the alleged animal cruelty or the animals involved have not been disclosed, as the investigation is in its early stages.

A spokesperson for the RSPCA told reporters: "An investigation is now ongoing so we can’t go into any further detail at this time."

Warwickshire Police have reiterated the basic facts of the arrests and confirmed the bail conditions. The force continues to work with the RSPCA on this case.
