£28 Weekly Payments Confirmed for Scottish Households

Households in Scotland will receive their £28 weekly payments as planned on Monday, June 15, despite the World Cup celebration Bank Holiday, Social Security Scotland has confirmed.

The Bank Holiday, approved by King Charles III, will be observed only in Scotland. Typically, benefit payments are brought forward by 72 hours when a Bank Holiday occurs, but this will not apply for Scottish Child Payment recipients.

Scottish Child Payment Details

The Scottish Child Payment provides £28.20 per week for every child under 16 in your care, helping with the costs of raising a family. Payments are made every four weeks if your application is successful.

To be eligible, you must live in Scotland, be the main carer for a child under 16, and receive certain benefits or payments. You or your partner may also qualify if receiving benefits from an EEA country or Switzerland.

If you have a sanction or deduction on your benefits, you can still apply for Scottish Child Payment, as this will not affect the decision on your application. However, sanctions or deductions may occur while receiving the payment.
