Sam Quek will face a tough challenge this evening when she takes her seat on The Chase for Soccer Aid, alongside a host of well-known faces, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Joining her on the popular ITV teatime quiz show will be former footballer David James, ex-sprinter Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and comedian Maisie Adam, all hoping to raise money for global children's charity Unicef.
The programme is just one of a number of shows ITV has lined up this week as part of its Soccer Aid 2026 coverage, with the highly anticipated match taking place on Sunday, May 31 at the London Stadium, with kick-off at 6.30pm British Summer Time (BST).
Viewers will need to tune in to The Chase tonight to find out whether Liverpool-born Sam, who participated in Soccer Aid last year, and her fellow celebrities can outsmart the Chasers and pocket a sizeable cash prize.
Many viewers may be curious about the former field hockey player and TV presenter's personal life away from the spotlight.
Here's everything you need to know about Sam's devastating loss and her secretive millionaire husband.
Inside Sam Quek's Devastating Loss
The Olympic gold medallist and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star has previously opened up about enduring a heartbreaking miscarriage.
Sam suffered a baby loss in January 2020 at 10 weeks, which prompted her to keep news of her following pregnancy private for as long as she could.
She later discussed her loss and revealed to OK! magazine in an interview that it was a "strange one". The Celebrity Masterchef 2020 finalist revealed how the tragedy "took a toll" on both her and husband Tom Mairs.
She confessed that they "weren't able to speak about it properly", which led her to stop "getting too excited" about her subsequent pregnancy as she found herself thinking "what if?" in the back of her mind.
Sam later endured a harrowing ordeal while pregnant with her second child, son Isaac.
A health scare just a week before her due date saw Sam rushed in for an emergency C-section after waking during the night, experiencing severe contractions and bleeding.
She said: "I'd been having recurring nightmares that if this birth went to a C-section, I was going to haemorrhage. I just felt like something was going to go wrong for this one, I don't know why."
Thankfully, everything worked out for Sam and Tom after Isaac arrived safely.
"When his little face popped up over the curtain, it was the realisation that he'd finally got here, was safe and was going to join our family of three to make it four," Sam said.
Inside Sam Quek's Life with Secret Millionaire Husband
Sam wed property tycoon Tom Mairs at a ceremony held at Chester Racecourse in 2018.
The couple are parents to two children, daughter Molly Doris Mairs, born in 2021, and son Isaac Gregory Mairs, born in 2022.
Tom is the son of a multi-millionaire and received £1million from his father upon completing his studies. He used the funds to establish Antona Student Properties, which offers student accommodation in Liverpool.
However, fans of the Olympian may not be aware that her entrepreneurial husband Tom is something of a star in his own right, having featured on Channel 4's reality series Secret Millionaire back in 2010.
As part of the show's format, Tom posed as a graduate seeking work experience as he visited several Liverpool-based charities, including SPACE (Sefton Performing Arts and Creative Education) Youth Project, Kids Konnect, and C.E.L.L.S (Choices, Education, Lifelong Learning, Skills) Project.
He subsequently made generous donations to SPACE and Kids Konnect, while C.E.L.L.S declined to accept any funding.
Nevertheless, Tom had a meaningful conversation with the staff, who explained how they hoped the Channel 4 programme would help raise awareness of the charity's efforts to educate children and young people about the serious consequences of crime and prevent both initial and repeat offending.
The Chase for Soccer Aid airs today on ITV at 5pm.
Soccer Aid 2026 will be kicking off on Sunday, 31 May at 6.30pm BST.
