Medical Attention

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service stated: “We were called to a fire at a property on Berkeley Road in Yardley, Birmingham at 7:56 PM on Sunday, June 7. We sent an ambulance to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man and a woman, both were assessed for the possible effects of smoke inhalation and conveyed to Heartlands Hospital, as a precaution.”

Damage Assessment

According to a West Midlands Fire Service spokesman, the room where the fire started suffered ten percent fire damage, while the entire flat experienced 80 percent smoke damage. The crews left the scene at 9:25 PM but returned the following day for reinspections.

This incident comes after a series of emergency calls in the area, including a separate report of a woman being sexually assaulted in a late-night attack on a busy street, and disturbances outside a nightclub involving over 100 people using items as weapons against police.
