This Morning Star's Post-Birth Warning After 'Unusual' Symptom
Alice Liveing urges new mums to 'get checked'

Fitness expert and This Morning regular Alice Liveing has issued an important health warning to fellow new mothers after experiencing a concerning post-birth symptom.

A Concerning Post-Birth Experience

The personal trainer, who welcomed her daughter five weeks ago, was referred to hospital for a scan after reporting unusual bleeding to her GP. Sharing her experience with her 675,000 Instagram followers, Alice posted a picture from the ultrasound room, revealing she had not received the news she wanted.

She explained that over the previous week, she had noticed unusual post-birth bleeding and decided to consult her doctor. This proactive step led to a hospital referral and an eventual diagnosis.

The Diagnosis and Important Symptoms

Alice disclosed that her scan revealed retained products following childbirth, a condition where pregnancy tissue remains in the womb. She is now awaiting a treatment plan to address this issue.

In a separate post, the new mum detailed the specific symptoms that prompted her to seek help, stating: "Mine was mainly the colour of my bleeding. It was a bright bright red with large clots from around 25 days post birth."

She emphasised that being outside the 28-day window for immediate hospital triage care meant she needed to go through her GP route, but expressed relief that she had taken action.

A Message to Other New Mothers

Alice used her platform to urge other new mothers not to dismiss potential warning signs, writing: "It's these little things you often try and 'write off' as being normal post having a baby that it can be worth getting checked."

The fitness star announced the birth of her daughter, Jeannie Isabella Murphy, earlier this month, describing her arrival as happening "in the most unexpected way" and promising to share the "wild story" in future.

Her experience serves as a crucial reminder for all new parents to seek medical advice when something doesn't feel right during the postnatal recovery period.
