Tributes Pour In for 20-Year-Old Bricklayer After Sudden Death from Blood Clot
Tributes have been paid to a young trainee bricklayer who died "too soon" after suffering a sudden blood clot. Troy Bogle, aged 20, collapsed at the Tamarind Centre in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, on July 28, 2025, and passed away shortly after arriving at Heartlands Hospital.
Inquest Details and Cause of Death
An inquest this month concluded that Mr. Bogle died from a spontaneous pulmonary embolism, which is a sudden blockage of the lung by a blood clot. The official cause of death was recorded as pulmonary venous thrombo-embolism caused by deep phlebothrombosis.
Senior Coroner Louise Hunt stated in the written inquest: "On July 28, 2025, he became breathless and collapsed on the ward. Attempts were made to resuscitate him, and he was taken to Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, where he died soon after arrival."
Notably, Mr. Bogle had been assessed for physical health in the days leading up to his death, with no abnormalities noted at that time. He had a diagnosis of schizophrenia and was detained at the mental health centre when the incident occurred.
Heartfelt Tributes from the Community
Following the details of the inquest, many people took to social media to express their condolences and share memories of Troy Bogle. One tribute described him as a "clean-hearted kid," while others echoed sentiments that he was "taken too soon."
Comments included:
- Lisa Burns: "Thinking of you x rest in peace."
- Lorraine Hawkes: "RIP young one, taken too soon x."
- Jordan Ellis: "RIP Troy Bogle, clean-hearted kid."
- Amanda Fergus: "RIP, condolences to his family."
- Elaine King: "So sad, RIP, young man."

Broader Context and Impact
This tragic event underscores the unpredictability of health issues, particularly in young adults. Pulmonary embolisms can occur suddenly and without prior warning, as seen in this case where no physical health concerns were identified just days before.
The incident has sparked conversations about health monitoring and support for individuals in mental health facilities, emphasizing the need for comprehensive care that addresses both mental and physical well-being.
As the community mourns, the tributes serve as a poignant reminder of a life cut short and the importance of cherishing every moment.
