Calbee Crisps Recall: 'Do Not Eat' Warning for Hot & Spicy and Pizza Flavours
Food Safety Alert: Popular Crisps Recalled Over Allergen Risk

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued an urgent 'do not eat' warning for two popular flavours of crisps sold across the UK. Consumers are being told to check their cupboards immediately.

Which Products Are Affected?

The recall involves specific packets of Calbee Hot and Spicy Chips and Calbee Pizza Chips. The manufacturer, Calbee Group UK, has initiated a precautionary withdrawal after discovering that certain allergens were not declared on the product labels.

The Hot and Spicy flavour contains mustard, while the Pizza flavour contains celery. Both ingredients can trigger severe and potentially life-threatening reactions in people with allergies to them.

Specific Batch Details and Action Required

The affected batches are clearly defined. For the Hot and Spicy Chips, all 55g and 105g packets are included, covering every best before date up to and including June 5, 2026.

The recall for the Pizza Chips applies to all 55g packets with best before dates through to April 28, 2026.

The FSA's advice is clear: "If you have bought the above products and have an allergy to mustard or celery, do not eat them." Customers should instead return the items to the store where they were purchased to receive a full refund. No receipt is typically required for a product recall.

Company Response and Consumer Advice

In a statement, Calbee UK said: "We take the integrity of our products very seriously and although the risk to consumers is relatively low, we are taking the precaution of recalling the above products and alerting our customers and the relevant allergy support organisations."
