Labour suffered a devastating blow in Wolverhampton as Reform UK surged through the city, claiming 12 of the 21 seats up for grabs in the local elections. This result makes Reform the majority opposition group on Wolverhampton City Council.
A third of council seats in Wolverhampton were contested in this year's election. Labour lost ten seats to Reform, while the party led by Nigel Farage also took one seat from the Conservatives and captured the vacant seat in Wednesfield South.
Following the election, Reform now holds 14 seats in Wolverhampton. Labour retains 34 seats, the Conservatives have 10, and Independents hold two seats.
