Filming for the hit ITV show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! was dramatically suspended on Monday as a brutal thunderstorm forced the complete evacuation of the 2025 campmates from their jungle home.
Storm Chaos Halts Production
All celebrities including Alex Scott, Shona McGarty, Aitch and Ruby Wax were urgently moved to safety as a severe storm swept through Dungay, New South Wales. The camp was battered by hailstones and drenched with approximately 50mm of rainfall, creating dangerous conditions for both contestants and crew.
The evacuation protocol saw stars relocated to the Bush Telegraph shelter, where they remained for approximately one hour while the storm passed. This safety measure resulted in a three-hour delay in filming as production teams waited for conditions to improve.
Social Media Teases Jungle Chaos
Viewers received a tantalising preview of the dramatic events through the show's official Instagram account. Contestant Eddie Kaddi appeared in a story saying: "Reporting live from the jungle, it is raining men it is raining women. We are all over the place. There is nothing that we can do."
Since the programme films one day ahead of broadcast, audiences can expect to see the storm drama unfold in Tuesday evening's episode (25th November). An insider from the production confirmed: "The camp was drenched and the storm caused filming issues, but everything is fine now. Our health and safety weather contingencies kicked in and we evacuated the celebrities immediately."
Leech Fears Follow Storm Aftermath
The dramatic weather event has raised concerns about potential leech infestations in the camp area. This year's contestants have already encountered these unwelcome jungle residents during what was supposed to be a relaxing swim.
Kelly Brook, Alex Scott and Shona McGarty were forced to abandon their dip in a jungle pool when Kelly spotted a cluster of leeches swimming directly toward them. Her screams of "Oh no they're coming, they're swimming. There's loads!" prompted such a rapid exit that Shona slipped while scrambling from the water.
This isn't the first time weather has disrupted the reality show. Last year's series saw two separate evacuations and was believed to be the wettest in the programme's history, with 114.5mm of rainfall recorded within just 24 hours at one point.
The production team's swift response to the dangerous conditions demonstrates their commitment to contestant safety, while ensuring viewers won't miss any of the dramatic jungle action when the episode airs.
