A proposal has been submitted to build four new homes close to Moseley Village. A row of two-bedroom properties could be constructed at Laurel Court, off Oxford Road, a short walk from the area's new railway station.
The site currently comprises a single-storey house surrounded by overgrown gardens. Each home would be accessed from Oxford Road and have a private back garden.
Design and Access Statement
A design and access statement said: "The proposed development is consistent with the scale, character, and layout of surrounding residential properties. The terrace design reflects the established pattern of development and maintains the visual character of Oxford Road. The development will not adversely impact the surrounding area and represents appropriate residential use of the site."
Ecological Appraisal
A preliminary ecological appraisal report said: "The site comprises a small, overgrown plot containing a single-storey brick building within a residential setting. The surrounding area is characterised by suburban housing and gardens with scattered mature trees, forming part of a wider urban green network, with nearby green spaces including Highbury Park, Moseley Bog and Cannon Hill Park. Habitats on site are dominated by ruderal vegetation and introduced garden species and are of low ecological value."
The plan is due to go before council planners at a later date.
