Hyndburn Borough Council has registered five planning applications during the week of Monday, July 27 to Sunday, August 2. The submissions cover residential extensions, a lawful use certificate, and a proposed change of use to support vulnerable adults.
Residential Extensions Proposed Across Hyndburn
Three householder applications seek permission for single-storey rear extensions. At 63 Sawley Drive, Great Harwood, a prior approval application was lodged for a single-storey rear extension, while at 220 Blackburn Road, Accrington, a householder application requests the same type of work. Additionally, a single-storey rear extension is planned at 18 Stonecross Close, Church.
Another householder application at 11 Meadow Close, Accrington, proposes an extension to the bay window and erection of a canopy to the front elevation.
Change of Use for Vulnerable Adults Support Home
A certificate of lawful use for a proposed change of use has been submitted for 40 Albert Street, Oswaldtwistle. The plan would convert the dwelling house into a supportive home environment for four vulnerable adults who require low-level support to assist with independent living, falling under use class C3(b).
This application reflects a growing trend in the borough towards providing community-based care options, allowing vulnerable residents to live semi-independently with tailored support.
