Wolves Eye £5m Hibernian Striker Kieron Bowie for January Transfer
Wolves 'Checking' on £5m Striker Kieron Bowie

Wolverhampton Wanderers are actively monitoring Hibernian's prolific forward Kieron Bowie as they prepare for the crucial January transfer window, according to fresh reports.

Wolves' Search for Firepower Intensifies

The Midlands club, currently rock bottom of the Premier League table and without a win this season, are seeking attacking reinforcements. Manager Rob Edwards, who replaced Vitor Pereira earlier this winter after leaving Middlesbrough, faces a tough challenge to turn the club's fortunes around. This follows a narrow 2-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in their last outing.

Journalist Alan Nixon reports via his Patreon page that Wolves are 'checking' on the 23-year-old Scottish international. Bowie, who has a contract at Easter Road until June 2028, is believed to be available for a fee in the region of £5 million.

Who is Kieron Bowie?

Kieron Bowie has emerged as a standout performer in the Scottish Premiership this campaign. The striker, who began his career at Raith Rovers, has netted eight goals and provided three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions for Hibernian.

His career path includes a four-year spell with Fulham, though he did not make a senior competitive appearance for the London club. Gaining experience via loans at Northampton Town, he secured a permanent move to Hibs in 2024 where his form has flourished, earning him two senior caps for Scotland.

A Gamble Worth Taking for Wolves?

With Wolves staring at a potential relegation battle, the club must consider players capable of making an immediate impact and potentially excelling in the Championship next season. Bowie's proven goal-scoring record in Scotland and his prior experience in the English football system are seen as positive factors that could help him adapt quickly.

His arrival would add much-needed competition and depth to Wolves' forward line. Manager Rob Edwards has acknowledged the difficulty of the January market, stating: "There’s a plan in place there, but January is difficult for the top teams, never mind teams that are in our position at the moment. A lot of people are working really hard on that so we can try and have an impact in the window."

While Hibernian will be reluctant to lose a key player mid-season, a bid meeting their valuation from Wolves or another suitor could force their hand, triggering a search for a replacement.
