Birmingham Airport Fast Track System: Departures and Arrivals Explained
Birmingham Airport Fast Track: Departures and Arrivals Guide

Birmingham Airport provides two distinct fast track services for travelers: one for departures and another for arrivals. These services can only be purchased through the airport's official website, not via third-party companies.

Departure Fast Track: Express Lane Security

The Express Lane for departures costs £7 per person and grants access to a dedicated, shorter queue at security screening. It is available only at Zone B Security; Zone A does not have an Express Lane, so passengers must head to Zone B to use their pass. Children aged 4 and under go free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Arrivals Fast Track: Premium Arrivals

The Premium Arrivals Fast Track costs £20 per person and allows passengers arriving from international flights to skip the main queue at passport control, located at the UK Border Force checkpoint. Travelers follow signs for "Premium Fast Track" and scan their barcode at the automatic gate. This service must be pre-booked online at least 24 hours in advance and cannot be purchased on the day at the airport. Capacity is strictly limited to 50 tickets per hour to ensure queue times remain between 5 to 15 minutes. Unlike security, all passengers, including infants and children, require their own paid ticket and barcode.

How to Purchase and Discounts

Express Lane tickets can be booked through Birmingham Airport's website. When spending over £99 at the airport's World Duty Free stores using the Express Lane voucher, customers receive 10% off. However, this discount cannot be used on Chanel products, Macallan whiskies, and all tobacco products. The maximum discount is £20 and does not apply to products already on promotion.
