Jet2, a major holiday operator competing with Easyjet, TUI, and easyJet, has announced its biggest weekend of the year, helping nearly 200,000 passengers depart on their summer holidays. The airline operated over 1,000 flights from 14 UK airport bases, including Birmingham Airport, across July 18 and July 19.
Record-Breaking Weekend for Jet2
According to Jet2, this was the busiest weekend in the company's history. The flights served destinations across Europe, North Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Canary Islands. Among the most popular spots were Majorca, Alicante, and Faro (Algarve), with 100 departures to and from Palma Airport (Majorca) alone over the two days.
Other sought-after destinations included the Balearics, Canaries, Mainland Spain, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Portugal, Croatia, and Malta. The massive operation involved 2,000 pilots and 4,000 cabin crew members working over the weekend.
CEO Comments on Summer Demand
