Tesco Whoosh 20-Minute Delivery Expands to 1800 Stores with Uber Eats and Deliveroo
Tesco Whoosh Expands to 1800 Stores with Uber Eats, Deliveroo

Tesco has expanded its rapid delivery service Whoosh to 1,800 stores across the UK, enabling millions more shoppers to receive a full grocery order in just 20 minutes. The supermarket giant has partnered with Uber Eats and Deliveroo to extend store-to-door delivery, making the service accessible through these popular platforms for the first time.

Whoosh Service Now Available Through Uber Eats and Deliveroo

Starting from August 2026, customers can order from Tesco via Uber Eats and Deliveroo, with hundreds of Clubcard Prices available and Clubcard points earned on purchases. This integration brings the benefits of Tesco's loyalty programme to a wider audience, combining convenience with value.

Ashwin Prasad, Tesco UK CEO, stated: "Whoosh has transformed the way millions of customers shop with Tesco, offering speed, convenience and great value through the power of Clubcard. Launching with Uber Eats and Deliveroo will enable us to bring those benefits to even more customers."

Expanding Reach Across the UK

The service is already operational in 1,800 Tesco stores, including locations in Birmingham and other major cities. The partnership with Uber Eats and Deliveroo is expected to significantly increase the number of households that can access rapid grocery delivery.

Saskia De Jongh, Vice President at Uber Eats, commented: "As the UK's leading delivery platform, we are thrilled to partner with Britain's biggest supermarket. Uber Eats reaches over 90% of people in the UK, with more and more people choosing instant delivery for the everyday essentials that keep life moving. We can't wait to help bring Tesco's Clubcard Prices and quality products to an even wider range of customers this August."

Deliveroo Partnership Adds Extra Convenience

Rob Harris, VP Merchant and Chief Revenue Officer at Deliveroo, added: "On-demand grocery is becoming an increasingly important part of many customers' lives, and we're delighted to be able to add Tesco to the Deliveroo platform, with the added value of Clubcard Prices and Clubcard points."

This move marks a strategic expansion for Tesco's online business, which Prasad described as "going from strength to strength." The partnerships represent another step in broadening the supermarket's reach, combining its market-leading range, quality, and value with the scale of two major delivery platforms.

Impact on Shoppers and Competitors

With over 1,800 stores now offering Whoosh, Tesco aims to capture more of the growing on-demand grocery market. The ability to earn Clubcard points through third-party delivery apps could incentivize loyalty and attract new customers who previously did not shop at Tesco.

The service promises delivery within 20 minutes from store to door, covering a wide selection of products including fresh produce, household essentials, and more. This expansion intensifies competition with other rapid delivery services such as Sainsbury's Chop Chop, Asda Express, and Ocado Zoom.

Future Prospects

As the partnership rolls out in August, Tesco expects to see increased order volumes and customer satisfaction. The integration of Clubcard benefits across platforms ensures that even customers who prefer using Uber Eats or Deliveroo can access the same value they would get shopping in-store or via Tesco's own app.

Overall, this development underscores the growing trend of collaboration between traditional supermarkets and delivery platforms, aiming to meet the rising demand for speed and convenience in grocery shopping.
