Supermarkets across the UK will be operating under slightly different hours this weekend due to the bank holiday. Monday marks the May bank holiday, with millions of Brits enjoying an extra day off work. If they wish to pick up any provisions, they should be aware that supermarkets will be using different opening hours during this time.
Tesco
Large Tesco branches will operate under their normal hours during the weekend. On the bank holiday Monday, big Tesco supermarkets will be open from 8am to 6pm. There will be no change to opening hours for standard Express stores.
Sainsbury's
Sainsbury's will be open from 8am to 8pm for the vast majority of stores on bank holiday Monday. Smaller convenience stores will follow normal opening times from 7am to 11pm.
Asda
The majority of Asda stores will not be altering their hours on the bank holiday Monday. They will operate from 8am to either 7pm or 8pm, with some remaining 24 hours.
Morrisons
Morrisons will operate from 7am to 8pm for the vast majority of stores. This means they will be closing slightly earlier than usual on Monday.
Aldi
Aldi stores will be open from 8am to 8pm over the weekend. As for the May bank holiday, they are expected to close slightly earlier.
Lidl
Lidl is expected to operate reduced hours between 8am to 8pm.
