Tesco has confirmed a new rule for shoppers bringing children to its UK supermarkets, extending its Kids Eat Free scheme until September 1. The initiative, running in over 330 participating Tesco stores seven days a week, allows thousands more families to enjoy free meals for their children.
How the scheme works
At The Café and The Coffee Shop in Tesco, families can get one free Kids Hot Meal Deal, Kids Breakfast, or Kids Pick 'n' Mix deal with any full-price adult purchase when they scan their Tesco Clubcard. The adult purchase can be as small as an apple costing just 65p, Tesco confirmed.
Supporting children's nutrition
Through its Free Fruit and Veg for Schools programme, Tesco is also supporting children's nutrition all year round. This year, more than 500 schools received free fruit and veg to help pupils get more of their 5-a-day. The Fruit & Veg for Schools programme, combined with Free Fruit for Kids in stores and Tesco Fruit and Veg Grants, aims to help a million children get more fruit and vegetables into their diets.
Terms and conditions
The offer runs from 25 June 2026 to 1 September 2026, including weekends, across Scotland, Northern Ireland, England, and Wales. Terms state: "One free Kids' Hot Meal Deal, Kids' Breakfast or Kids' Pick ‘N’ Mix Deal per any adult item purchased in The Café for dine-in only, a child must be present." Clubcard or app is required. The offer is subject to availability and kids' meals may vary in Cafés. Kids' Pick ‘N’ Mix Deal may be the only option available in some Cafés, consisting of 1 sandwich, 1 drink, 1 fruit item, and a choice of 2 snacks. The offer cannot be used with other promotions, vouchers, or rewards, and Tesco reserves the right to withdraw or amend it.
