22 NCP Car Parks to Shut Down by Friday Evening, Drivers Alerted
National Car Parks Limited has confirmed the closure of 22 car parks across England and Wales, with all sites scheduled to shut their gates before the end of Friday, March 27, 2026. The company entered administration earlier this month, leading to this significant reduction in its operational footprint.
Administration Forces Immediate Closures
Joint administrators from PwC, appointed on March 16, 2026, have identified these 22 locations as commercially unviable. Zelf Hussain, Rachael Wilkinson, and Toby Banfield of PwC made the difficult decision to close these facilities permanently at 11:59 PM on March 27. Despite these closures, the majority of NCP's estate remains operational, with 318 car parks continuing to serve customers across the United Kingdom.
The company previously employed 682 people and operated approximately 340 car parks nationwide before its collapse. The administration process has now resulted in 33 employees facing redundancy on March 31, 2026. These affected workers will receive support through statutory redundancy payment procedures according to company statements.
Birmingham Location Among Affected Sites
The closure list includes the NCP facility at Gough Street in Birmingham, along with other prominent locations across England and Wales. Motorists who regularly use these car parks are advised to seek alternative parking arrangements immediately.
An NCP spokesperson confirmed: "National Car Parks Limited – in administration – 22 sites to close on March 27, while all other sites remain open. Following an initial assessment of operations, the joint administrators have identified 22 sites that are commercially unviable and will therefore be closed to customers from 11:59pm on March 27."
