Lamborghini driver caught at 130mph on M6, car seized

A Lamborghini driver has been caught speeding at nearly double the legal limit on the M6, resulting in the seizure of the luxury sports car. The incident, which took place on the M6 between Junction 14 (Creswell) and Junction 15 (Hanchurch), was captured by Staffordshire Police officers.

High-speed chase and dangerous driving

The white Lamborghini Huracán Performante Spyder, valued at approximately £200,000, was observed travelling at 130mph. In addition to excessive speed, the driver was seen undertaking other vehicles on the motorway, a dangerous manoeuvre that significantly increases the risk of collisions.

The vehicle was eventually stopped at Keele Services, where officers conducted a routine check. They discovered that the car had no valid tax or insurance, making it illegal to be on the road.

Consequences for the driver

As a result of the incident, the Lamborghini was seized by police. The driver was reported for driving without due care and attention, exceeding the speed limit, and having no insurance. These offences could lead to substantial fines, penalty points, and potential disqualification from driving.

Staffordshire Police shared details of the incident on X (formerly Twitter) via their StaffsRCT account. The post read: "Lamborghini spotted by our patrol on the M6 J14 to J15 travelling 130mph and conducting undertakes. Lamborghini stopped at Keele Services, where it was seized for no tax and no insurance. Driver reported due care, excess speed and no insurance."

The case serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of speeding and the importance of complying with road traffic laws. Police continue to patrol motorways to ensure the safety of all road users.
