Police in Staffordshire stopped an uninsured pick-up truck on the M6 motorway and made a shock discovery: the vehicle on its back was stolen from London.
Traffic stop on M6 between Junctions 14 and 15
Officers from Staffordshire Police used 'tactics' to stop a white-coloured pick-up truck travelling between Junction 14 (Stafford) and Junction 15 (Hanchurch) on the M6. The vehicle was transporting a Vauxhall Astra on its back.
Upon closer inspection, officers discovered the Astra had been stolen from the London area. The driver of the pick-up truck was also found to be uninsured.
Driver assisting police
Staffordshire Police said the driver was now helping police to understand how they came into possession of the stolen Astra. A photograph of the scene showed the pick-up truck pulled over at a set of services.

Driver of the recovery vehicle now assisting us with how they came into possession of the Astra. Oh and driver also had no insurance. Both vehicles seized."
Both vehicles seized
Both the pick-up truck and the stolen Astra were seized by police. No arrests have been reported, but the investigation is ongoing.
