Police formed a ring of steel around an entrance at Birmingham New Street station following an incident at a pub inside. British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to a report of anti-social behaviour at a venue just before 11.40pm on Thursday, April 30.
It was understood the incident involved a large group who had come from a university football game. A picture taken from the scene showed officers lining steps outside New Street station at the junction with Station Street and Hill Street after 1am on Friday, May 1. A number of people were gathered around on the pavement below. The group was later dispersed. No arrests were made.
