Jet2 expands Birmingham Airport Greece flights for summer 2027
Jet2 adds more Greece flights from Birmingham for 2027

Jet2 has expanded its summer 2027 programme from Birmingham Airport, adding more seats to two Greek destinations: Crete (Heraklion) and Kalamata. The additional capacity, available from today (September 4), is designed to give customers greater flexibility outside the peak summer season.

New and extended routes from Birmingham

The Jet2 route to Kalamata from Birmingham Airport provides a gateway to Greece's Peloponnese region. Heraklion is known for its ancient history and authentic Cretan cuisine, featuring local olive oil, wild herbs, cheeses, fresh seafood, and traditional dishes like dakos and fried snails, often accompanied by tsikoudia.

Kalamata offers golden coastlines, archaeological sites, forest trails, freshwater pools, and olive oil. Customers can enjoy more flights to Heraklion with weekly Wednesday services from 7th to 28th April. The Kalamata season, an exclusive route with Jet2, has been extended from 4th to 25th April with weekly Sunday services, meaning two weekly flights will operate from Birmingham Airport in Summer 27.

Part of wider Summer 27 expansion

This expansion is part of Jet2's wider Summer 27 programme, with more capacity and choice across 22 of Jet2's routes from nine UK bases.

David Hills, Chief Customer Officer of Jet2 and Jet2holidays, said: “We know how much our customers are looking forward to planning their summer holidays next year, and we are seeing continued demand for holidays earlier and later in the summer season as well as during the peak.”

“By adding more seats from Birmingham Airport to fantastic Greek destinations including Crete (Heraklion) and Kalamata, we’re giving holidaymakers based in the Midlands, even more opportunity to book early, plan with confidence and choose the options that suit them.”

Impact for Midlands travellers

The extended seasons and extra weekly services provide more choice for travellers from the Midlands planning trips in April 2027. With two weekly flights to Greece operating from Birmingham, customers can book early and secure options that fit their schedules.
