Mountnessing (Old Church Lane and Mountnessing Road): The council intends to close Old Church Lane from its junction with Mountnessing Road for approximately 255m north west, and Mountnessing Road from its junction with Old Church Lane for approximately 85m south west. Closures are scheduled from Tuesday August 25 2026 for 15 days. The order comes into effect on Wednesday August 5 2026. Works are for duct laying by Openreach. A signed diversion will operate via Old Church Lane, Old Church Road, Church Road, Stock Lane, Ingatestone Road, Buttsbury and Mountnessing Road, and vice versa, with an alternative via Mountnessing Road, Radford Way, B1007, Ingatestone Road, Buttsbury and back to Mountnessing Road. Dates may vary and will be shown on local signage and one.network.
Pilgrims Hatch (Ashwells Road): A closure for approximately 270m, starting about 225m north west of Well Lane, is scheduled from Tuesday August 11 2026 for 3 days. The order is in force from Wednesday July 22 2026. Cabling works will be undertaken by UK Power Networks. Diversion via Ongar Road, with access only into Ashwells Road and Crow Green Road.
Doddinghurst (Church Lane): A closure for approximately 45m starting around 15m north east of Warren Lane is scheduled from Tuesday August 11 2026 for 4 days. The order is in force from Wednesday July 22 2026. Affinity Water will undertake a new connection. Diversion via Church Lane, Place Farm Lane, Blackmore Road and Stocks Lane, and vice versa.
Ingatestone (Docklands Avenue): A closure from the junction with High Street for approximately 60m south east is scheduled from Monday August 3 2026 for 5 days. The order is in force from Wednesday July 22 2026. Essex and Suffolk Water will carry out reinstatement works. Diversion via Docklands Avenue, Pine Close, Park Drive and High Street, and vice versa.
Little Warley (Little Warley Hall Lane): A closure from approximately 235m south of Magpie Lane for around 545m south west is scheduled from Wednesday August 12 2026 for 2 days. The order is in force from Wednesday July 22 2026. Openreach Ltd will replace poles. Northbound diversion via Little Warley Hall Lane, Magpie Lane, Bird Lane, Warley Street, A127 and back to Little Warley Hall Lane; southbound via Little Warley Hall Lane, A127, Childerditch Lane, Magpie Lane and Little Warley Hall Lane.
Ingatestone clearways and Weald Road
Ingatestone clearways (temporary no waiting, no loading and no stopping): From Tuesday August 11 2026 for 21 days between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday, clearways will operate at The Furlongs (approximately 255m), Pemberton Avenue (approximately 320m), Fryerning Lane (approximately 500m) and Willows Green (approximately 250m). The council’s 2019 Consolidation Order will be temporarily amended on these lengths only. The restrictions support Portakabin deliveries. Dates may vary and will be shown on signage and one.network.
Weald Road closure and associated clearway (No.6): Within an 18‑month period from Wednesday July 22 2026, Weald Road will be closed in phases from Chequers Road to Park Road (approximately 4,580m). A signed diversion will operate via Chequers Road, Coxtie Green Road, A128, Western Avenue and Weald Road, and vice versa. Access for emergency services will be maintained. Residents will be notified ahead of each phase via letters and advance warning signs.
A128 speed restriction and general information
A128 Tilbury Road, East Horndon (No.7): A temporary 30mph speed restriction and associated clearway will operate on the A128 between Halfway House Roundabout and the Thurrock border (approximately 1,475m) during works scheduled within an 18‑month period from Wednesday July 22 2026. Signs will indicate when the restriction is active.
