By 10:16 am, the incident was cleared, and all lanes were reopened. However, residual delays of approximately 40 minutes and four miles of congestion remained as traffic gradually returned to normal. The highways spokesperson added: "M6 southbound, between Junction 10 and Junction 9. All lanes have reopened following a collision. There are residual delays of 40 minutes, and four miles of congestion on approach."
