M6 Drivers Face Double 9-Hour Weekend Closure in Birmingham

Drivers in the West Midlands are facing a double overnight closure of the M6 this weekend. National Highways has announced it will close a section of the motorway on Saturday night, June 6, and again on Sunday night, June 7.

Closure Details

The northbound carriageway will be closed between Junction 6, Spaghetti Junction, and Junction 7, Great Barr. The closures will take place from 9pm until 6am the following day on both nights.

National Highways stated that the overnight closures are necessary for maintenance works. Diversions will be in place for affected motorists.

Full Closure Schedule

  • Saturday: Junction 6 to Junction 7 northbound closure, from 9pm to 6am Sunday.
  • Sunday: Junction 6 to Junction 7 northbound closure, from 9pm to 6am Monday.

No other motorways in the region face closures this weekend, although entry slip road closures are scheduled further north on the M6 at Junction 22 and Junction 31.

Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and follow diversion signs.
