Taxi Overturns in Two-Car Birmingham Crash, Road Closed

A Birmingham road was closed following a two-car collision that resulted in a taxi overturning. The incident occurred at a mini-roundabout on Gospel Lane in Acocks Green, at its junction with Severne Road, on Sunday, April 26.

A white taxi, believed to be a Toyota Estima, ended up on its passenger side near Fox Hollies Park shortly before 7.30pm. All three emergency services attended the scene, and Gospel Lane was closed while crews recovered the vehicles and made the area safe.

Emergency Services Response

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at the junction of Gospel Lane and Severne Road in Fox Hollies, Birmingham at 7.21pm last night and sent an ambulance to the scene. On arrival, crews found a man who was assessed for minor injuries before being discharged at the scene with self-care advice.”

West Midlands Fire Service confirmed it was called at 7.24pm. A spokeswoman said: “We were called at 7.24pm to a collision with two cars on the roadway. We sent three crews, two from Solihull and one from Hay Mills. One man was treated by paramedics. We left the scene at 7.55pm.”

Police Appeal for Information

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police added: “Officers were called to Gospel Lane, Birmingham, on Sunday shortly before 7.25pm to reports of a collision between two cars. A man in his 50s was not seriously injured and was treated by ambulance staff at the scene. Anyone who was in the area at the time, or has any information, is asked to call 101 or use the Live Chat option on our website quoting incident number 3948 of 26 April.”
