Motorists are facing delays of around 30 minutes following a multi-vehicle crash on the M6 near Wednesbury. The collision occurred on the northbound carriageway between Junction 8 for the M5 and Junction 9 for Wednesbury.

Traffic delays and congestion

National Highways reported just after 12:30 PM that approximately four miles of congestion had built up on approach to the scene. In a statement shared on X, officials confirmed that lanes 2 and 3 of 3 are closed northbound between J8 and J9 due to the incident.

West Midlands Police and traffic officers are currently at the scene managing the situation. The statement added: "Current delays of 30 minutes and 4 miles of congestion on approach."
