The devastated family of a cyclist who died following a collision with a car in the West Midlands has paid an emotional tribute to him, describing Adrian Hudson as a 'kind, hardworking, and caring person' who meant everything to his loved ones.

Tragic Incident on A5 in Brownhills

Adrian Hudson, aged 61, tragically lost his life after being involved in a collision between a bicycle and a Vauxhall Zafira on the A5 in Brownhills, Walsall. The incident occurred on Friday, March 20, at approximately 5:30 AM near the junction with Chester Road North.

West Midlands Police confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision and is assisting officers with their ongoing enquiries. Despite being rushed to hospital, Mr. Hudson sadly passed away later that same night.

A Family Facing Unimaginable Loss

Mr. Hudson leaves behind two sons who are now confronting a double tragedy, having recently lost their mother as well. A family spokesperson, writing on a GoFundMe page established to help cover funeral expenses, expressed the profound grief they are enduring.

'Adrian was a kind, hardworking, and caring person who meant so much to his family and friends,' the statement read. 'His loss has come completely unexpectedly, and we are still trying to come to terms with this devastating news.'

The family emphasized the particular heartbreak facing Mr. Hudson's children: 'Having already recently lost their mum, they are now having to cope with the heartbreak of losing their dad as well. No child should ever have to endure so much grief in such a short space of time.'

Fundraiser for Funeral Costs

The family revealed that Mr. Hudson had been cycling to work when he was 'knocked off' his bike. They are now faced with the unexpected financial burden of arranging his funeral.

A fundraising campaign has been launched with a goal of £6,000 to give Adrian Hudson a 'respectful and dignified farewell'. At the time of writing, £4,490 has been raised through generous donations.

'During this incredibly difficult time, we are asking for any support—no matter how small—to help us give him the respectful and dignified farewell he deserves,' the family pleaded. 'Every donation will go directly towards ensuring Adrian is laid to rest with the care and love he deserves.'
