Birmingham Dogs Home Family Fun Day Moves to Rescue Centre
Birmingham Dogs Home Fun Day Returns to Rescue Centre

A popular local dog charity has announced an exciting venue change for its upcoming summer festival. Birmingham Dogs Home will host its much-anticipated Family Fun Day at its rescue centre in Catherine-de-Barnes, Solihull, next weekend. The spectacular event will take place on Saturday, June 20.

New Venue Brings Visitors Closer to the Cause

Organisers previously held the annual celebration at Tudor Grange Park. Returning to the rescue centre enables visitors to see first-hand how the charity supports homeless and vulnerable dogs across the West Midlands. The charity supports thousands of dogs each year. Management made the decision to change the venue to bring the event back to where it all began. They also want to encourage stronger connections between visiting supporters and the vulnerable dogs they help.

Though the location has moved, the rest of the activities remain completely unchanged. Guests can enjoy dog shows, training demonstrations, and stalls from local businesses. There will also be plenty of food and refreshments, children’s entertainment, and an abundance of interactive activities. The festival will begin at the Solihull centre at 10am and will finish at 4pm. Free parking is available at the site. Tickets can be purchased on entry and cost just £2 for adults, £1 for children, while dogs go free.

Fundraising for a Vital Cause

In addition to providing a fun day out, the aim of the event is to raise vital funds to ensure the charity can continue to support abandoned dogs. It costs the organisation roughly £6,000 a day to keep the doors open to both of its centres in Solihull and Wolverhampton. More than 2,000 dogs are rescued by the team each year. Staff and volunteers will be on hand throughout the day to provide advice on training, veterinary care, responsible pet ownership, and adoption.

Rachel Frost from Birmingham Dogs Home said: “We're absolutely delighted to be bringing our ‘Family Fun Day’ back to Birmingham Dogs Home this year.” “Not only does it allow visitors to enjoy free parking and all the fantastic activities we have planned, but it also gives people the opportunity to see first-hand the place where thousands of dogs receive care, support, and a second chance every year.” “Our ‘Family Fun Day’ is all about bringing our community together.” “Whether you're entering the dog show, browsing the stalls, enjoying the demonstrations, or simply spending time with fellow dog lovers, every person who attends helps us continue our work with homeless dogs across the West Midlands.” “We're incredibly grateful to our supporters, volunteers, stallholders, and local businesses who help make events like this possible, and we can't wait to welcome everyone for what promises to be a fantastic day.”
