Breast Cancer Survivor Sharon Lindsay Hosts Charity Darts Day in Nottingham
Cancer survivor's charity darts day to thank Macmillan & Maggie's

A Nottinghamshire woman who triumphed over breast cancer is channelling her gratitude into a major fundraising effort for the charities that stood by her. Sharon Lindsay, supported by her husband Stuart, is turning her personal victory into community action.

From Patient to Fundraiser: A Journey of Gratitude

Following a courageous fight involving surgery and radiotherapy, Sharon Lindsay is now in recovery. Her experience was profoundly shaped by the emotional, medical, and practical support provided by Macmillan Cancer Support and the Nottingham Maggie’s Centre. These organisations offered a lifeline to Sharon and her family during what she describes as one of their most challenging periods.

"We simply couldn’t have got through this past year without Macmillan and Maggie’s," Sharon stated. "Their kindness, expertise, and constant reassurance made an overwhelming situation manageable. This event is our way of saying thank you and helping them continue their incredible work."

Event Details: Fun, Games, and Community Spirit

To give back, the Lindsays are organising a charity darts day at Caythorpe Cricket Club on Sunday, December 28, 2025. The event is designed to be inclusive and enjoyable for all skill levels.

The day's itinerary includes:

  • Darts-themed competitions.
  • Food and refreshments.
  • A variety of other games.
  • A bonanza fundraising raffle with prizes.

Doors open at 10am, and the festivities will continue into the late evening. The venue is Caythorpe Cricket Club on Caythorpe Road in Caythorpe, Nottingham.

Rallying Community Support for a Vital Cause

Sharon and Stuart's primary goal is to raise vital funds and awareness for the two charities, ensuring other families facing cancer can access the same compassionate care. They are calling on the local community to join them in this mission.

"We hope the community will join us—whether by taking part, donating, or supporting in any way," Stuart Lindsay added. "Every contribution makes a real difference."

This heartwarming initiative highlights the powerful cycle of support, where a recipient of care becomes a champion for the cause, strengthening the local network of aid for those affected by cancer.
